What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure-hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online.

Using multi-billion dollar government satellite technology to find tupperware in the woods....
One of my geocaching goals is to get a "blackout bingo" of all possible terrain and difficulty combinations....
Another goal is to find a cache in all 72 Wisconsin Counties!
I was a bit addicted to this hobby in the beginning of this year, but I've slowed down a little.  Still, it's fun to be hiking outdoors rather than watching TV on my couch.   Because of this hobby, I find new parks and places I didn't know about before.  Sometimes I learn fascinating historical information or visit interesting geological formations, and sometimes the nature is simply breathtaking.  And sometimes I just visit a dead end.  But whether it was an easy drive-up or a mile-long hike through a dense forest with a 30-minute search for a micro cache under piles of fallen leaves, it's always a joy to find the hidden cache and log my adventures.
